The Story Continues (Thursday 27 August) ......
The Tattoo performance of Wednesday 26 Aug 2009 contained a little something extra for the crowd, courtesy of AFPPD piper Josh Kirkland. In front of the 9,000 strong audience Josh took the opportunity to stop the show, go down on bended knee in the middle of the Esplanade and propose to his long-time girlfriend Lauren. Our best wishes to both for a long and happy marriage.
The performance schedule continues unabated and the rain, although threatening on occassions, has luckily held off apart from some occassional light drizzle. Most of us are still suffering colds and coughs, with a few (the suspected carriers, Marguerite, Mark and June) escaping sniffle free. However, while physically feeling a bit low morale is still positive.
The Band has also participated in one satellite Tattoo performance at Dumfries House in Ayrshire, in front of a small but very supportive audience.
There are rumours that we might have a special guest of honour at Thursday's show.
This will be the last report from the Tattoo. We'll endeavour to get the best photos up in the Gallery in the next six weeks or so.
